Author: Hybridization is a hot topic today. Whether talking about fashion, music or flowers, mixing different styles and varieties, unexpected combinations and hybridization are hot topics. People do not simply prefer products experiments, things that different styles, like the world we live in is becoming more diverse, complex and challenging to combine. In horticulture is the hybridization of the term that describes the transplantation of two different varieties of plants, with the aim of a third variety, the so-called “hybrid”, which is responsible for the characteristics of its’ “parents”.
Many of the roses are hybrids that exist today. The hybrid tea, for example, are one of the most popular types of roses. They are elegant, slim, medium size, enter the size and fragrant flowers that will last from spring until frost and used both as roses and as cut flowers. Many activities are free to the public. The Flower Festival begins on 1 June and activities are planned throughout the month. The festival is familiar with activities for all ages. The Uptown Greenwood streets come up with 39 great topiaries on display throughout the month comes alive. Signature safari animal themed festival includes a lion, a crocodile, a monkey, a giraffe height of 14 meters, a Clemson Tigers and the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
Area schools participate in planting and ornamental gardens preparation for display. On 1 June festival visitors can enjoy a wine tasting with a stroll through the city center. South Carolina holds Newberry, Ridgeland, Greenville and Pelzer present their wines. Tickets for the wine tasting are $ 20 in advance and $ 25 at the event. Other activities include weekend kickoff juried art show at the Federal Building Uptown and a horse show at the Equestrian Center Lander University. Many of the specific activities of the festival is scheduled for the fourth weekend in June as a golf tournament, an exhibition of aviation, and three private tours garden.
A KidsFest and an expert in the fine arts and crafts show with 80 vendors will take place at venues around the city. One of the most popular events of the festival is the seed Flower Park, for 27 June planned in Hodges, South Carolina, headquarters of the company. This giant open day attracts thousands of visitors each year for guided tours of the gardens to a 14-acre park seeds. Professional Horticulturists conduct symposia on a variety of gardening topics. Gardeners are more than 1,500 new species of plants tested in the study are gardens to see.

A bluegrass concert on 22 June in Uptown Greenwood is Blue Highway, along with Shannon and Heather Slaughter & County Clare band. One of the last events of the festival is the bee Buzzin ‘Bike Tour on 23 June. The drivers drive Uptown Greenwood and scenic roads of the province. There is a circuit of 25 miles and a course of 62.5 miles. The entry fee is $ 30 in advance and $ 40 to the 14 June.
